The Integrity Commission Act was passed by both houses of parliament and assent was given by the Governor-General on October 23, 2017.

Senate Approves Bill for Single Anti-Corruption Agency

The Senate has approved the Integrity Commission Bill, paving the way for the establishment of a single anti-corruption unit, which will investigate and prosecute corruption in Jamaica.

The Bill will go back to the House of Representatives for approval of the amendments made by the Senate.

The Bill was piloted in the Senate yesterday (July 20) by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith.

Anti-Corruption Law Gets The Nod - Holness Says Gov't Couldn't Delay Passage Any Longer

...the House of Representatives yesterday passed the long-awaited Integrity Commission Act to establish a single anti-corruption body to investigate and prosecute corruption in Jamaica.

The new body will have three commissioners heading the administration, investigation and corruption prosecution divisions.
